We don't just love the music we make.

We make the music we love.

Murder Inc. Records didn't just make hits. It made history.

Founded by Irv "Gotti" Lorenzo in 1997 and distributed through Def Jam, the label became one of the most dominant forces in early 2000s music. At its peak, Murder Inc. owned the charts, the award shows, and the culture.

The roster tells the story. Ja Rule. Ashanti. DMX. Lil' Mo. Charli Baltimore. Multi-platinum certifications across the board. Ashanti's debut broke Guinness World Records and produced three simultaneous Billboard charting singles. Ja Rule's Pain Is Love and The Last Temptation went platinum. The label's first release, Ja Rule's Venni Vetti Vecci, went platinum out the gate.

This was not a lucky run. It was the result of one man's ear, one label's vision, and a roster of artists who were built to last.

Murder Inc. Records remains the foundation of everything Visionary Ideas Entertainment stands for. The standard was set here.

The Catalog Doesn't Lie.

Murder Inc. Records set the standard in 1997 and spent the next decade proving it. Multi-platinum. Chart-dominant. Generational.
